The Singapura is one of the smallest cat breeds and is linked to the street cats of Singapore. Americans Hal and Tommy Meadow helped bring the breed to the United States in the 1970s.
It has a ticked sepia coat, large eyes, and big ears. Singapuras are curious, people loving, and playful.
Care Tips
Provide toys and perches. The short coat needs little grooming.
Fun Fact
Despite their small size, Singapuras are lively and often act like kittens their whole lives.
Is This Breed Right for You?
Every cat is an individual, so meet the cat before you decide. Think about your schedule, grooming time, other pets, and children in the home. Breed rescues and Ohio shelters often have purebred and mixed breed cats waiting for homes, and adult cats come with personalities you can see right away.
Health Basics
Schedule a checkup soon after adoption, keep vaccines and parasite prevention current, and ask your veterinarian about health issues common to the breed. Responsible breeders should share health screening results and welcome your questions.
