The Ragdoll was developed in Riverside, California, in the 1960s by breeder Ann Baker. It has a colorpoint pattern, blue eyes, and a semi long silky coat.
Ragdolls often go floppy when held, which inspired the name. They are large, gentle, and devoted to their families.

Is This Breed Right for You?
Every cat is an individual, so meet the cat before you decide. Think about your schedule, grooming time, other pets, and children in the home. Breed rescues and Ohio shelters often have purebred and mixed breed cats waiting for homes, and adult cats come with personalities you can see right away.
Health Basics
Schedule a checkup soon after adoption, keep vaccines and parasite prevention current, and ask your veterinarian about health issues common to the breed. Responsible breeders should share health screening results and welcome your questions.
