For a teen or adult who suddenly collapses, the American Heart Association teaches two simple steps: call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest.

Hands Only CPR uses chest compressions without rescue breaths and is easy for bystanders to remember.

Pin Tip

Push to the beat of a song with about 100 to 120 beats per minute, such as Stayin’ Alive.

Keep Going

Continue compressions until emergency responders take over, an AED is ready to use or the person starts to breathe normally.

Get Trained

This pin is for general education only and does not replace hands on training. Take a certified CPR and first aid course from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, and always call 911 in an emergency.
