The Ford Model TT was built from 1917 into 1928 as a one ton truck chassis based on the famous Model T car. Ford strengthened the frame, added heavier springs, and used a worm drive rear axle to carry real loads.
Most TTs left the factory as a bare chassis and cab, and owners or outside companies added the body they needed, from stake beds to delivery boxes and fire apparatus.
Why Collectors Love It
The TT is simple, sturdy, and easy to understand mechanically. Restored examples turn up at antique truck shows hauling milk cans, hay bales, and old store signs.
Driving Tip
With low gearing the TT was slow by design. Owners today often add an auxiliary transmission to make it more comfortable at modern road speeds.
Before You Buy
Check the frame, cab corners, floors, and bed for rust, confirm the title and serial numbers match, and ask for service records. A local classic truck club or a trusted mechanic can help you judge parts availability and a fair price before you commit.
