Many older adults drive safely for years, but changes in vision, reaction time, and medications can affect driving.

Schedule regular eye exams, review medications that cause drowsiness, avoid driving at night or in bad weather if it feels difficult, and consider a refresher course.

Pin Tip

Family members can ride along occasionally to observe driving comfortably and respectfully.

Talk With Your Doctor

This pin shares general information, not medical advice. Everyone ages differently, so bring questions to your doctor and review medications and health goals at least once a year.

Local Help in Ohio

Ohio’s Area Agencies on Aging connect older adults and caregivers with services such as meals, in home help, transportation, and benefits counseling. Call 911 for emergencies, including sudden face drooping, arm weakness, or speech trouble.

Quick Reminder

Keep an updated list of medications, doctors, and emergency contacts on your refrigerator for family and first responders.
