The Studebaker Champ was built from 1960 to 1964 in South Bend, Indiana. To save money, Studebaker built the cab using front sheet metal from its Lark compact car.

Champs came with six cylinder or V8 power, and in 1961 Studebaker added a wider Spaceside bed to compete with Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge.

End of an Era

Studebaker ended production in South Bend in December 1963, and the Champ became the company’s final pickup.

Why Collectors Love It

Champs are less common than Big Three trucks, so they draw a crowd at shows and offer a unique piece of American automotive history.

Before You Buy

Check the frame, cab corners, floors, and bed for rust, confirm the title and serial numbers match, and ask for service records. A local classic truck club or a trusted mechanic can help you judge parts availability and a fair price before you commit.
