The Korat is an ancient breed from Thailand, also described in the historic Tamra Maew manuscripts. Its silver tipped blue coat and bright green eyes make it stand out.

Korats have heart shaped faces and are affectionate and loyal, though they can be sensitive to loud noises.

Care Tips

The single coat needs little grooming. Korats bond closely with their families and enjoy gentle play.

Fun Fact

In Thailand a pair of Korats is traditionally given as a good luck gift to newlyweds.

Is This Breed Right for You?

Every cat is an individual, so meet the cat before you decide. Think about your schedule, grooming time, other pets, and children in the home. Breed rescues and Ohio shelters often have purebred and mixed breed cats waiting for homes, and adult cats come with personalities you can see right away.

Health Basics

Schedule a checkup soon after adoption, keep vaccines and parasite prevention current, and ask your veterinarian about health issues common to the breed. Responsible breeders should share health screening results and welcome your questions.

Save this pin to your cat lovers board and share it with a fellow cat fan. Thinking about a new cat? Check Ohio shelters and rescues too.
