The Dodge Li’l Red Express was sold in 1978 and 1979 as a high performance version of the Dodge pickup. It used a modified 360 cubic inch V8 and a sporty Utiline bed.
Its bright red paint, gold trim, wood accents, and tall chrome exhaust stacks behind the cab made it impossible to miss.
Performance
Magazine road tests at the time found it quicker than many performance cars of the late 1970s, at a time when most car engines had lost power to emissions rules.
Why Collectors Love It
Only two model years were made, and survivors are highly sought after by fans of 1970s muscle.
Before You Buy
Check the frame, cab corners, floors, and bed for rust, confirm the title and serial numbers match, and ask for service records. A local classic truck club or a trusted mechanic can help you judge parts availability and a fair price before you commit.
