The Chevrolet Cameo Carrier was built from 1955 to 1958 as an upscale version of the Task Force half ton. It was aimed at buyers who wanted a pickup that looked as good as a car.
Its biggest feature was a bed with smooth fiberglass panels over the rear fenders, creating flush sides years before most trucks had them.
Rare Find
Production numbers were small compared with regular pickups, and many Cameos had distinctive color schemes with contrasting trim.
Legacy
The Cameo showed there was a market for stylish trucks and paved the way for Chevrolet’s Fleetside bed in 1958.
Before You Buy
Check the frame, cab corners, floors, and bed for rust, confirm the title and serial numbers match, and ask for service records. A local classic truck club or a trusted mechanic can help you judge parts availability and a fair price before you commit.
