A process server delivers legal documents to the people named in a court case so they are officially notified.

This step, called service of process, protects everyone’s right to due process by making sure people know about a case and have a chance to respond.

Pin Tip

Give your process server every known address, workplace, vehicle and a recent photo of the person to be served.

Ohio Rules

Ohio courts allow service by certified mail, sheriffs, bailiffs and persons designated by the court. Rules vary by court, so confirm what your court requires.
