Security guards protect people, property and assets by preventing problems before they start.
Their core duties include observing and reporting, controlling access, patrolling, responding to alarms and incidents, and calling police, fire or EMS when needed.
Pin Tip
A visible, professional security presence is one of the strongest deterrents to crime.
Observe and Report
Most security officers are trained to observe, document and report rather than act as police. Their detailed reports are often valuable evidence.
