Constant notifications from trees, shadows, and passing cars can make you ignore important alerts.

Use your camera app to draw motion zones around doors, walkways, and driveways, and exclude streets and swaying branches. Person and vehicle detection features help even more.

Pin Tip

Review alert history after a week and fine tune the zones.

Stay Within the Law

Use cameras to protect your own property, never to record places where people expect privacy such as bathrooms or bedrooms of others. Recording laws vary, and audio recording carries extra rules. When in doubt, speak with an attorney before installing or using any surveillance system.

Professional Help

For investigations, licensed professionals know how to gather evidence lawfully. Ohio Security & Investigations, a licensed Ohio agency, can be reached at (888) 341-6960 for confidential consultations.
