Remington traces its roots to 1816, when Eliphalet Remington built a rifle barrel in upstate New York. The company grew up in Ilion, New York.
Remington became famous for shotguns, hunting rifles and ammunition. After a 2020 bankruptcy, the firearms business continued as RemArms with headquarters in LaGrange, Georgia, while the ammunition brand was sold separately.
