Duane “Dog” Chapman became the most famous bounty hunter in modern America through the television series Dog the Bounty Hunter, which aired on A&E from 2004 to 2012.

In 2003 he gained international attention for capturing fugitive Andrew Luster in Mexico. His shows introduced millions of viewers to the bail bond and fugitive recovery business.

A Note on TV

Television shows simplify a complex field. Real fugitive recovery depends on state law, careful planning, and coordination with authorities.

Safety Note

Never approach a wanted person yourself. If you have information about a fugitive, contact law enforcement. Learn more about fugitive recovery history and public bulletins at FugitiveHQ.
