Ohio background checks come in two main types: BCI and FBI.
A BCI check searches Ohio records through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation. An FBI check searches national records. Many jobs and licenses require both.

If you have lived outside Ohio in the past five years, your employer may require an FBI check as well.
