Ohio laws are made by the General Assembly, which includes a 99 member House of Representatives and a 33 member Senate.

A bill is introduced, reviewed in committee, debated, and passed by both chambers in the same form. It then goes to the governor, who may sign or veto it. The legislature can override a veto with enough votes.

Pin Tip

You can track bills and committee hearings on the Ohio General Assembly website.

Check Official Sources

Election rules, dates, and deadlines can change. For current, accurate information, check the Ohio Secretary of State website, your county board of elections, or the official website of the government body involved.

Stay Engaged Respectfully

Civic life works best when people listen, ask questions, and share views respectfully. Look at multiple sources, separate facts from opinions, and focus on issues rather than personal attacks.
